Jane Brill's The Retaking of Pelham One Two Three evokes the 1974 suspense film — about the hijacking of a New York City subway train — to capture the persistent sense of dread in New York City's post-9/11 underground landscape. Ultimately the viewer is left with a plea for reason in the face of a real or imagined threat. Music by Steve Horowitz.
The Retake premiered with live music at The Kitchen, New York City. It was then presented at New York Video Festival, Lincoln Center and screened with live music at The RedCat Theatre, Los Angeles, CA.
